Hassan sends a telegram to Melik Shah’s cousin Turan, informing him of the events in the palace. Sanjar wants to return to the plain with his mother after speaking with Sultan. Terken appears after a short while and begins blaming Basulu. Basulu wishes to talk to Melik Shah and goes to his room, but the Sultan refuses to speak with her.

Melik Shah goes into hiding and abandons the palace. Sanjar, Basulu, and Nizam return to the plain. A tiny girl approaches Melik Shah as he ponders how the people around him may deceive him. Melik Shah pays attention to the mother of the daughters and assures her that the Sultan will assist them. Melik Shah gives the girls water and warns them that the Sultan will avenge their father.

Tapar claims that he will conceal these soldiers and enter Shalamzar undetected. That night, Terken interacts with the Sultan and expresses her concern for the dynasty.

Melik Shah refuses to discuss anything, but Terken continues to whine. Sanjar finds that he will be going on a new assignment with Tapar the next day while speaking with Turna. Nizam meets with Khayyam and discusses recent occurrences with him. Everything, according to Khayyam, will improve over time. On their trip to Shalamzar, Tapar and Sanjar halt a group of merchants and inspect their vehicles for supplies. The merchants claim to be transporting food, but Sanjar discovers combustible items in the car.
